"... we are on the road to becoming young women."
From Issue #3 of Inside the Six

This trip to Virginia Beach has been a great experience for us.  It has exposed us to playing tougher teams and pushing us to our limits. As Coach Brian said, "It isn't as much fun if you always play teams that will roll over for you."  Our first challenge was to adapt to the humidity of Virginia.  It wasn't easy, but by the second game we could play without much trouble.  Our trip had given us an opportunity to be responsible.  Many of us had to step up our maturity levels in order to do this.  We needed to take care of ourselves due to there being a limited amount of chaperones.  Some examples of this are waking up every day on time, eating breakfast, drinking the correct fluids, etc.  A crucial part of our trip was team bonding.  We all got to know each other and hung out as much as possible in the attempt to not feel homesick.  We all depended on one another to have the keys to our rooms and to be ready for whatever would come because we had to use the same concept on the field.  We also went to enjoy ourselves the day we had free since we were beat out of the finalist spot by one point (in the third tiebreaker the other team had one more goal scored so they moved on).  We took a trip to Jamestown.  It was very historical and informing.  We learned very much about our past and we found it very interesting.  After that we went to the beach.  We also went shopping and have many great memories of Virginia Beach.  This trip has helped us grow as people because we are not irresponsible, little children any more; we are on the road to becoming young women.
