California Odyssey Soccer Club is excited to build upon the inaugural year of our new Girls “Elite” program. Under similar parameters of the U. S. National Development Academy program, the “Elite” program will be set up for two teams, in the U16 and U18 age groups. The idea behind this program is to provide our players with a much more competitive environment that will help them as they move through our system and onto their collegiate careers. Our U16 team will be made up of the best players from both our U15 and U16 age-groups and our U18 team will be made up of the best players from both our U17 and U18 age-groups. In the second year of our Program, the “Elite” teams will be competing in 2 nationally recognized tournaments that are scouted by countless college coaches. The first tournament our teams will be attending is the Pleasanton Rage College Showcase. The second event will be November Nights in Carlsbad, CA. 

In order to establish the pool of players that will be attending these tournaments, there will be training sessions held at least twice a month. These will be under the supervision of the Girls Director and run by the age-group coaches. The Staff will be selecting the players that will be attending the tournaments based not only on the monthly training sessions, but also through their Club team training sessions and League/Tournament performances. Just as in the U. S. National Development Academy, we want every training session and every match to have meaning so the players will give their best every time they step on the field. In the end, there is no guarantee that a player will be invited to attend the events. Every player will need to compete on a daily basis to earn the opportunity to make the travel roster of 18 players.

*Important note: Due to our Coaching Staff’s role at CSU-Fresno and NCAA Regulations, players may only live within a 50-mile radius of the University.
