Elite Players,

Congratulations on making the team!!

Please read this email carefully as it includes everything that you/your paretns will need to know regarding this weekends trip.

We are not going to provide an itinerary beyond the following as not everything has been confirmed yet, but I want to make sure that you (your parents) have at least this info:

2nd Fundraiser- Gold Canyon Candles

E-mail 10/27/11

Elite Pool Players,

Our second Fundraiser for this year’s Girls Elite Cycle is the Gold Canyon Candle Fundraiser.  This will be the last Fundraiser for this season and all money raised will go to offset costs for the last tournament in Carlsbad over Thanksgiving.

Each player is responsible for raising $100 (profit) to be considered eligible for making the Carlsbad roster (same applies as the last fundraiser...players unable to raise the $100 will be responsible for covering the difference).  This is easily attainable with selling only14 candles.  I encourage all of you to enlist the help of your family and friends to buy a few candles in the months leading up to the Holidays.

Players can get in touch with Mrs. Castonguay (lesleycastonguay@sbcglobal.net) or come by the Odyssey office to pick up Candle packets.  The office is open Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 AM-4:00 PM and Friday 9:00 AM-1:00 PM.  We will also have packets available at the next Elite Training (TBA). Please get your packets ASAP to make sure you have as much time as possible to sell. The deadline right now to get candles sold and packets turned in is November 16, but we are looking to get that pushed back until right before the team leaves for Carlsbad.

November Training Dates will be sent out early next week.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

September Training Dates

Email sent Wednesday, 8/31/11:

Elite Pool Players,

The first September Girls Elite Training will be MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 10:00-12:00 PM AT TICE PARK.  The second September training will be announced shortly, so please make sure to check the web-page for details on times/location.

Please remember that these sessions should take priority over your Club training sessions.  We will do our best to make sure that there are the least amount of conflicts and exceptions will be taken in weeks leading up to tournaments. Your coaches should be supporting your participation in this Program.  If you have experienced anything other than this, please make it a point to notify me.

Again, if you are unable to attend any session you must e-mail/call/text Brian and/or Kevin to let them know in advance (not the day of).  All of these sessions are planned out ahead of time and they will need advance notice if numbers change.

16 Travel Squad to Pleasanton...we are still waiting for the remainder of you to turn in your Blue/White Tops that were checked out to you for the Tournament in July.  Those need to be turned in to the new office ASAP.

There will be a MANDATORY MEETING with all Pool Players on Tuesday, September 6 at 8:00 PM at the new Odyssey Office.   The meeting will be immediately following the Older Girls Club Training that your teams will be participating and it will be kept as brief as possible knowing that everyone will have school in the morning.

Last quick note, we are looking to incorporate a very informational and fun session as one of our October training dates and that will be posted as soon as it's confirmed.

Keep up the hard work and if anyone has any questions please make sure to get in touch with me.

See you Monday!

Josh

Rage Showcase
Travel Info

-Rage Showcase Travel Squad Information-

Hi Everyone,

Here are some details that you will need to prepare for the up-coming tournament:

1.  You will need to get in touch with your team manager to obtain your player U.S. Club player pass and medical release form.  If you can do this tonight or Monday it would be best!

2.  If you have not started your fundraising (Live Cards) you are in jeopardy of not attending this event.  Please make sure to get in touch with me on Monday if you fall in to this category to sort it out.

3.  You will need to bring all of your Odyssey Uniforms.  We will provide an extra set of Jerseys for each team.  You will also need to bring your Odyssey Sweats, Shin Guards, Cleats, etc.

4.  Everyone will be on their own for food.  Please make sure to bring enough money to cover all of you meals.

5.  If you haven’t sent your player profile to Ellen (ellenheld@comcast.net) or Linda (popeglzs@sbcglobal.net), you need to make sure that is done ASAP!  This is one of the main reasons we are attending this event.

6.  We will be staying at the San Ramon Courtyard on Thursday night and then at the San Ramon Residence Inn on Friday/Saturday nights.  The coaching staff will be making the rooming list and will read these off Thursday evening once we arrive at the hotel.

7.  If you are in bad standing with your regular club team, you must get in touch with the office and make arrangements before leaving for the trip.

Please make sure to pass this on to everyone else in the travel squad in case I do not have an accurate e-mail address (penmanship) and keep an eye on your e-mail leading up to Thursday.  There will be more information to come.

June 14 Meeting
From Tuesday, June 14 Meeting:

Elite Pool Players
Players,
Welcome and congratulations on making the California Odyssey “Girls Elite” Player Pool. I’m sure that you will find this season to be a valuable and enjoyable learning experience, both as a player and as getting a first-hand look into the training, traveling, and competitive experience at the Division I College level.
In order to make this an affordable opportunity for you as players, each of you will be Required to participate in 2-3 Fundraising Events. The money raised from these Fundraisers will go towards helping pay for the cost of coaching fees, hotels, van rentals and gas, as well as tournament entry fees. Again, participation in these Fundraisers is MANDATORY if you wish to participate in training and have an opportunity to travel to our two Events (Rage and November Nights).
Our first of these Fundraising events will be a combination of selling LIVE cards and selling Mixed Bag Designs. Each player is responsible for raising $100 by Friday, July 8 (Live) and a date TDB for the Bags. You may do either Fundraiser or do a combination of both Fundraisers. If a player is unable to raise the $100 (which can be done very quickly combining both Fundraisers) the player will be responsible for covering the rest of the balance.
In addition to our 2-3 Fundraisers, our Elite Pool Players will be Required to participate in Club Events, including Community Service Events, Public Appearances, and Camps.
Congratulations again and we look forward to a very exciting and rewarding season.
