Walker (as he’s known by many), began playing over 30 years ago in Fresno. After playing for Hoover United, he joined Cyclone and played for them for 5 years before playing for the first D7 Premier team for two years. After his youth competitive playing years were over, he played one year for Fresno City College and made First Team All-American. He also played for 10 years in the now-defunct Fresno Premier League for Fresno Oro, Ajax and Manchester.
Walker started coaching for Odyssey in 2003 for the U15 Boys White. The next two years were with the U17/U18 girls. 3 years ago, he started with our U12 Girls and is finishing up his 3rd and final year with that team, which included being a U12 State Cup Semi-Finalist. He is looking forward to staying in the same age group and coaching the upcoming team. He currently has an “E/D” Coaching License and is to hoping to get his National “D” this summer.
He’s also been a USSF Referee for over twenty years and was a State 1 referee for 5 years before declaring Emeritus last year. He was able to go to the Far West Regionals and ODP Regionals for 3 straight years representing CA-North. For the past 5 years, he’s also been the CJSL Director of Referees and became a USSF Entry Level Referee Instructor in 2008.
Walker has recently gone back to school to finish his education to become a teacher and is working part-time. He’s been married almost 2 years to Jennifer who has been known to come out and support the teams he coaches.
