Cal Odyssey’s first annual Look How Far We’ve Come Pro Athletes Golf Tournament will take place Monday June 23, 2008 at Copper River Country Club. Join your team at MERCEDES-BENZ OF FRESNO Sunday night before the event to bid on playing with your favorite pro. Your company will receive direct exposure to all tournament participants and guests from our many event branding and product placement opportunities.

California Odyssey’s National Development Academy 2008-2009 teams will travel to Three National Showcases
(Fall, Spring, and Summer).

This initial Tryout will be a great time to get information about the National Development Academy and why it is different from an ordinary club soccer team.
Players will be able to and encouraged to participate with their
High School soccer teams during the winter soccer season.
Be apart of the most intense soccer opportunity in the Nation.
Odyssey staff highly recommends that each player attend all try-outs. Please arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to the start of the 1st try-out to sign-in. GO ODYSSEY!!

Upcoming Academy Match Information for Weekend of May 10-11, 2008! This coming Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11, the Odyssey Academy teams will be in Portland and Washington to battle 2 of the 3 Pacific Northwest Academy Clubs. On Saturday, the 1991 and 1989 Boys play at FC Portland. Match times are 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. On Sunday, the 1991 and 1989 Boys play at Crossfire. Match times are 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. Good luck to both teams! GO ODYSSEY!!

U-15 BR Finish as State Cup Finalist Following Heartbreaking 3-4 Loss to the Dreaded Golden Goal!

California Odyssey SC would like to congratulate the U-15 BR for their tremendous performance this past Saturday, May 3 in the State Cup Finals. Although the boys wound up as the Finalist in the end, they are to be applauded for their efforts and performance throughout their State Cup run. They represented our Club to the fullest and we are proud of them. With the score tied at 3-3 at the end of regulation, the match went into Overtime and in the 1st OT, a Sporting player was able to get his head to a ball and nod it into the net for the GOLDEN GOAL, and our boys had lost the match, 3-4. Our boys showed great character throughout the entire match and though they found themselves down 0-2 at half-time, they regrouped and exploded for 3 goals in the first 9 minutes and 40 seconds of the second half to take the lead, 3-2. Sporting was able to equalize with 10 minutes left in the match to send the match to Overtime. Odyssey goals were scored by Colton Irvine (x2) and Greg Antognoli and GK Matt Dishno came up with some big saves throughout the entire match. All of the boys and Coach Chad McCarty are to be congratulated for their performance not only from this past Saturday, but from the entire season. GO ODYSSEY!!

Two Odyssey Players Earning Success with U.S. Soccer!

Congratulations to Odyssey players Jon-Paul Medina and Gregory Antognoli for their most recent success!
Jon-Paul has been named to the US National U-15 Player Pool. JP has been a mainstay for the US side since being identified his first year in ODP. Over the last year and a half, JP has participated at numerous camps, both at the Home Depot Center and in Florida, and has played in several matches including a trip to Mexico last year. His most recent experience was a grueling week-long camp, under US National Team coach, Jim Barlow, at the Home Depot Center from February 16th to the 23rd. JP is the only player from Cal-North that is a member of the 29 player pool.
Gregory has been selected by Coach Sean Bushey to go to Costa Rica with the Region IV 93 age group team this March. The Costa Rica tour will be from March 22nd to the 31st. The Region IV team will play professional academy teams, Saprissa and others, in San Jose, Costa Rica. Gregory is one of four players from Cal-North selected to the team.
Congratulations and Good Luck are in order for both players!! GO ODYSSEY!!!
